Alamo, CA PERMEABLE Grow-in Cover

These photos were taken in the Spring of 2012 in Alamo, California. You are seeing the turf as it appeared immediately following its uncovering. GreenJacket^® PERMEABLE covers allow the soil to breathe through the winter months, The GreenJacket PERMEABLE cover also protects the turf from frost and desiccation damage. As the days get warmer, the cover acts with the sun’s power in creating a greenhouse effect heating up the turf while aiding in bringing up the soil temp, resulting in healthy green turf in the Spring. “A green that was not recovering from an aggressive drainage project and high salt levels needed a 7/8 of an inch aerification in mid-November. By the end of the month, the temps dropped to 30 degrees and stayed there through the month of December. During that time we received .18” of rain. I received your cover around December 17th and kept it on through January the soil temp remained around 42 degrees, enough for the seedlings to germinate and grow. You can see the color of the collar and the green where the cover was placed. We opened the green to play in February and aerified it again in March.”
