Guilderland, New York used IMPERMEABLE covers.

These photos were taken in the Spring of 2010 in Guilderland, New York. You are seeing the turf as it appeared immediately following its uncovering. These greens were ICE Covered from December through the end of February. GreenJacket^® IMPERMEABLE covers protect greens from ice damage, crown hydration, desiccation, and help to keep the turf dormant during those freeze-thaw-freeze cycles, resulting in healthy green turf in the Spring.

Note: The very last photo shows a test the Superintendent experimented with on the green. He took the cut-off pieces of the GreenJacket and taped and secured the make shift cover in place with sod staples. Here is the outcome of the partially covered green.
